What is a Mokume gane titanium Ring?
Monday, July 23, 2007
Mokume gane (pronounced mo-koo-may gah-nay) is an ancient Japanese metalsmithing art, used originally in the production of samurai swords. it literally means “wood grain metal”. In this process there are alternating layers of contrasting metal, (usually a minimum of 10 – 20 layers) which are bonded into a single billet and then cut and shaped to form ring material. The result is a beautiful artistic pattern which somewhat resembles a topographic map. Since no two rings are exactly alike, owning one of these exotic rings will surely get you noticed!
